The Governor was pleased to signify to the board that it was
determined that a Fort should be immediately built on the River Ohio a the
Fork of the Monongahela for the security and Protection of his Majesty's
subjects in this colony; and that a sufficient force should be raised
to erect and support, he judged it necessary to give a re:
:ward of 200,000 acres of land on the East side of the River Ohio, with:
:in this Dominion/clear of Rights and free from the payment of
Quitrents for the term of Fifteen Years, One Hundred Thousand
Acres where of to be contiguous to the sd Fort and the other Hundred
Thousand to be on or near the River Ohio / over and above that pay to
all who shall Voluntarily enter into the sd Service in proportion to
be divided amongst them after the performance of the said Service
in proportion due to their respective Merit. The Councill on due con:
:sideration of the great advantages which will [derive] to His Majesty
from the [mildew] immediate [mildew]sion of thousands and being
satesfyed [mildew]ea otherwards sufficient [mildew]ver the quantity
[mildew] to the Ohio Company Coppy Counci[mildew]
